The Pro-Abortion Obama Plan
The plan put forth by President Obama embraces much of what the Senate-approved health care plan does - and for Americans - that is very troubling news.
Without question, the President's plan includes abortion funding and we've prepared a detailed legal analysis of his plan concerning this issue.  You can read it here.
The fact is that most Americans have repeatedly said they don't want federal health care dollars to be used to fund abortions.  And, pro-life legislators, like Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) who spearheaded a pro-life health care plan in the House, are correctly expressing their concern and dismay.
"Unfortunately, the President's proposal encompasses the Senate language allowing public funding of abortion," Stupak said. "The Senate language is a significant departure from current law and is unacceptable."
He is exactly correct.  The pro-abortion push is totally unacceptable.
Further, it's time to scrap the current health care plan in the Senate - including President Obama's plan.  It's time to start over and craft a sensible, affordable, and pro-life health care bill.
And, the American people understand that health care reform must not be jammed through Congress with a legislative scheme called 'reconciliation' - a maneuver that was never designed to be used on such a massive legislative package like health care reform.
It's time to say NO to reconciliation - time to scrap the problematic health care plans on the table and start over.  Please add your name to our petition.
It's important that the White House and Congress hear from you right now on this vital issue.  Add your name here.
